Study - cartoon

I watched toy story 3 this week-end, and i felt really inspire to do some cartoony stuff. Each time i actually watch a animated movie either from pixar,dremworks, bluesky,etc i want to take a break from realistic subject matter and dive into the cartoon animation world.

Anyways , i decided to make some fan art as some sort of warm up and get the feel of how shapes work in that stylized world. Shapes, forms , flows, gestures,etc are very important. I think it's gonna be beneficial for my realistic work as a well.

This time around we were lucky enought to have 2 models for this week session. having to draw 1 model is difficult so you can easily imagine how challenging it was to draw 2 models in such short time poses. It turns out quite ok even if in almost all the poses i haven't been able to draw fully the 2 figures. Like i've been told , it should pays off. Next session we will be back with 1 model so hopefully i feel more comfortable.

Good experience overall.

life drawings session

Session from last monday at work. It's been a while, had much fun :).
small note: at the end of each session i always have the feeling that my skecthes look like crap but when i'm look at them again the next day i feel like i didn't do that bad after all. Still a lot of probleme to get the proprotion right that fast i really need to focus on that but i want to keep my hand loose and fast so i guess it will come just with more practice :).
